I have chosen to dedicate myself towards community building because I believe and feel that when people choose to connect and cooperate on a deeper and conscious level this will lead to positive and lasting change, beneficial to a greater whole. Contributing to these processes, especially within an organizational context, feels needed, meaningful and fitting for me.
From a young age on I often took the role of mediator. Trying to bring people together, improve relationships and the overall wellbeing of those around me. I did this by listening to what was said, and unsaid. By trying to establish connections through searching for a common ‘language’ so people could come to a mutual understanding and resolve their differences and optimally work, learn and live together. Aiming to provide a safe space where each voice can be heard, and people feel seen and appreciated.
Highlighting and fostering the potential in people, providing them with practical tools and insights, contributing to (collective) learning and development, and raising their awareness regarding ways in which they can become agents of change, both in their personal and professional lives, brings me joy and simultaneously helps me grow as person too.
Since 2007 I have worked as a freelancer in various fields on a project basis, primarily in non-profit organisations, often working on improving communication, cooperation and entrepreneurship. During the last decade I worked in our family business where my main focus was on finances, contracts and logistics in an international setting. I have combined this with the care for my family and young children, advisory work for individuals, board membership and voluntary work at the schools of my children, e.g. around participation.
Joining the SOUL.com community provided me with the opportunity to humbly work with likeminded and -hearted people on processes that aim to improve the wellbeing of all.
