In this role, he supports organizations in reimagining themselves as spaces of collaboration, growth, and social responsibility. As Secretary General of ebbf (Ethical Business Building the Future), Mahmud promotes values-based, non-adversarial leadership, fostering alliances across corporations, universities, civil society, and governments to drive sustainable impact. His extensive experience includes roles as Secretary General of the Global Governance Forum and advisor on EU projects for responsible innovation.
A serial entrepreneur and pioneer in innovation, Mahmud launched Latin America’s first satellite-based distance learning platform in the 1990s, establishing joint ventures, public-private partnerships, and startups in IT, telecommunications, and public transportation across continents. Passionate about empowering the next generation, he mentors young leaders and has been an advisor to AIESEC worldwide. Fluent in five languages and well-traveled, Mahmud considers his global exposure both a privilege and a lifelong learning experience, fueling his commitment to unlocking human potential, particularly among youth and diverse cultures.
